Today Mrs. Taaffe confessed about the Whetu crime, she was the one who committed the crime in Whetu on Saturday 10th. She went to drop off some work at the office but she needed an HDMI cable so she came to Whetu and in the class, she saw some chocolates so she took them. We told her everything we found out then she knew that we were on to her so she had to admit that she did it we had a lot of evidence to back us up.

Athletics
This week was athletics and it was a good day for it. First up was the 100m race I was nervous because I am not a good runner I still tried and Joseph just bet me so I came fourth. Then I did shot put at first I did not have a good attitude but Mrs.Barker told me how to do so I felt more confident I did not make it into HP but I had fun. For the high jump, I could not even jump 95cm so I was out but I enjoyed watching the winners jump really high. When it was time to do the long jump I was excited because I knew I was good at that, the line was long so I did not get to jump for a long time I think that I did well but I don't know. I was sitting in the sun for a long time so I started to get a headache I drank all my water so my throat was dry. I did the 200m that was hard because I had hard competition I came third so I did not make it to HP but I had fun, my house team did not win any of the relays at least I don't think but I was not paying attention.

Soup
This week I got put into the cooking workshop.
On the first day, we talked about some hazards in the kitchen so we would be safe.
On the second day, we got all the vegetables and prepared the soup.
On the third day in the morning, we put the soup on the element so it could cook and at lunchtime it was ready.
The part that I liked the most was preparing the soup.
My Dave Dobbyn report
Dave’s full name is David Joseph Dobbyn and he was born in Auckland on the 3rd of January 1957. He has two children, one of them is 11 and his name is Eli and his daughter Grace is 13. His wife is Anneliesje. He went to the local Catholic School Sacred Heart College.
Dave Dobbyn and The Herb’s released one of their hit songs ‘Slice of heaven’ in 1986. He made it into the top 10 songs for his song ’’Welcome Home’’ which was released in 2006, he won the best songwriter of the year for it. He is famous for his music career that he started off in mid-1976 continuing to the present.
I chose Dave Dobbyn because he is one of my mum’s favourite singers. Before his career started in high school he had serious stage fright and stayed at the back of the group and sang with his eyes closed.

My workshop reflection
During Term 2 and 3 the Whetū students have had the opportunity to be involved in a range of different workshops.
The workshop that I have enjoyed participating in the most has been the drama one because we played if you love me honey give me a smile.
The new learning that I have learnt is that you can make string into a pompom and then attach a beak and a tail and turn it into a bird.
What I have most enjoyed about the workshops is that we don’t have to do the one that we don’t want to do because we can pick what we do.
I am interested in learning more about how chemical reactions work so I can de an expert at science.

I am most proud of my placing because I came 3rd and I normally come 4th and I also made it into HP cross country.
I think my effort towards our training at school was really good because this year I trained really hard.
I showed the Learning Power of Resilience by keeping on going because I had a really bad stitch.

My 2020 term 2 reflection
The new learning activity that I have enjoyed the most this term is the Blog Challenge. You don’t have to do it but I do because it is very fun. My favourite one was the ‘’In 10 years’’ because I did it on my birthday, so I could say I would be twenty.
Something that has challenged me this term has been the Maths Challenge because I had not done it before. I did not know how to do it which meant it was very hard but I got used to it.
The Whetu Challenge I enjoyed the most was the Catapult Challenge because I was an expert and I did it very well. I was in a team with Franklin and Ben, our catapult made it into the finals but we did not win.
The opt-in workshop I enjoyed the most was the Bean Growing because I love to eat them raw. I planted a bean and it looked like it would not sprout but during the weekend it had a growth spurt and now it is a big bean.
