This week we read How Does A Dinosour Eat I worked with Ben we made new diosours out of lego one was called Lytranatex the other was called Arthursourus we also made a habitat for them. I think we did a good job but we could have done a better habitat. We also made a little booklet about them.

This week for Play,Make,Create we read We Are All Equall for the tasks I decided to do design. It was to make somthing to make the snake reach the trees.I worked with Sol 'cause I haven't worked with him before, I think we worked well together. I think that everything went pretty good I think we could have made the snake a bit bigger and we probably could have made hime a seat I liked how Me and Sol added sponsors on the wings.

Tower Challenge

This week we did another tower challenge you had to build the highest tower out of news paper and tape. We did the same thing last week and my team won it I was with Ben, Johan and Katelyn, this week I worked with Lachie and Scarlettwe called ourselves The Bob the Builders we won! This time we made a stronger base and we also got 61 centimeters more than last time Last time we got 2meters 36 centimeters this time we got 2meters 97 centimeters.

This week for play, make, create we read the book be you we were told to try not to do what you always do I decided to make a house car from klikko It was a design. I think that it is quite adventurous 'cause you can camp out in it. It was pretty hard because I've never used klikko before I think that I could have made it a bit bigger but it looks good.

Term 2 week 1 blog post

 During Term 1 we have been practising our addition and subtraction knowledge through the online programme called NumBots.  At the start it was super easy but progressively got more challenging.

I am now on titanium level of NumBots which is the 6th best level titanium is the one that is rainbow.  

I enjoy NumBots because once you finish the level you get to keep the skin of the level.

What I find challenging is the hard levels on bronze, silver and gold. They are very confusing but once you get it, it becomes easier.

This week we have started TTRockstars.  This is an online programme which helps us to learn our timetables. 

I think that TTRockstars will be better than last year because there is a new place called jamming. On jamming, you can pick the times tables that you like and if you want them to be multiplication or division.

Play,Make,Create Up The Creek

 This week for play, make, create we read up the creek it was about a beaver, a moose, and a bear that were going down a creek they were friends but they did not get along so they always did stuff wrong until they worked together to get home and everything worked. I worked with Cohen to design a way to get through a creek without getting hurt it was a mech with bubblewrap in the cab so they don't get hurt it also has two swords that we connected with magnets so we could adjust them. The magnets were a good idea, we did not think about them but then we found them on the box if we had time we would have coloured it in overall I liked it.

Whetu funday

 Last Thursday we had a Whetu Fun Day as our camp was postponed.  Our teachers planned a fun day for us instead!  We participated in a Whetu Amazing Race, a range of different fun rotations, a BBQ lunch, and play on the council playground then we finished the day with an Easter Egg hunt and an ice block.

My favourite part of the Amazing Race was shooting netball shots because we were not very good it was unquestionably the most time-consuming.

The rotation I enjoyed the most was surely the activity where you had to make an easter costume we put the costume on me. It was simply a skirt a crop top and some bunny ears also a fanny pack to put the eggs into.

During the Easter Egg Hunt I found my stick up in a tree but it was too high so I had to use Micheal as a boost.

Maths challenge

 Today I did the maths challenge with Fergus, it was actually pretty easy compared to other ones. at first we got it wrong and then we did it again and got it right the answer was Mollie.

Play,Make,Create week 9

This week for play, make, create I made a campsite using lots of different things, I worked with Katilyn and Olivia. We started with a tent and then a mat with a fireplace on it then we each made a little person that was made out of sticks. I didn't really finish my person so I half put him in a sleeping bag. 

Whetu challenge easter

 This week the whetu challenge was to make some wrap to put on an easter egg then we cut it out into an egg shape and presented it, I was with Ben, James, and Dylan this is our creation.

Play, make,create number 2

 This week we read the book Giraffes Can't Dance, I chose to make a gadget that can make someone or something be able to reach the trees like a giraffe. immediately I thought about minions when bob got extendo arms and legs so that is what I did. I worked with Franklin, I made the arms and legs by plating wool and Franklin did the drawing.

  

Term 1 wk 5 2021

 On Monday it was our swimming sports. I entered into four races, two of them I won which were the one length breaststroke and the two lengths as well. In my freestyle one length, I got third but I got second to last in the two lengths.

This week we had two art sessions and my art painting a landscape. We are practicing on a small piece of paper so that we don’t mess up on the real thing. The good copy is a massive piece of paper with a circle on it, we paint in the circle and add plants over the top of it.

In reading this week in pekapeka we have started reading the book The Twits by Rold Dahl. We are being book detectives by making a hipofisis about what we think is going to happen next in the story. For the book detectives we are reading The Magic Finger by Rold Dahl.

As a part of maths we are doing a program called numbots. In numbots you have to solve equations to get points to level up your robot. There are ranks, I am chrome, most of the ranks are a type of metal or building equipment that you would use to build a robot.

WK 4 reflection

 

The most interesting/fun thing we have done during class time this week is statistics with Mrs. Kennedy. We are making graphs and mine is about who likes what sports.

We started our art this week and I have chosen to do art with Mrs. Kennedy.  Our art is going to be a landscape made out of different shapes and coluors.

We created our Whetū stars on Thursday and they look Ka mau te wehi, our parents came to help us make them!  

Next week we have our school swimming sports. I am feeling up to the mark but very anxious.

Whetu 2021

 Someone who has helped me with my learning this year is Ben, he helped me do something on my blog.

The most interesting/fun thing we have done during class time is Numbots because it is fun and easy to do but it is getting challenging.

The most fun thing that I have done at a play or lunchtime this year is team handball, it was fun because I always get out.

One word that describes learning in Whetu is enjoyable!

Something I am looking forward to is art because I like to make stuff.
